Useful Information for New Starters

DINNERS – Dinners are provided by Caterlink Catering Company which is entirely separate from the school. Dinner choices are made at registration on a daily basis.

Payment of dinners is on line via Parent Pay.  The current cost of a dinner is £2.54 per day or £12.70 per week.  Dinners should be paid for in advance.

Instructions to help you to set up a Parent Pay account are included in this pack.  An individual activation code will be provided once your child has started school.

For those parents who have difficulties with accessing the internet please do not hesitate to contact the School Office.

If your child is entitled to free school meals please make sure that you apply online using the confidential online form – www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals.  This will ensure that your entitlement is up to date on arrival.  Please be aware that while all children in infant school receive free school meals, this is not the case for children in Year 3 and up.  You must apply to Gloucestershire County Council using the above link to secure free school meals.

Free meals cannot be provided until the school has received written confirmation from Shire Hall.  All meals will have to be paid for in the interim.

If your child has any food allergies and will be ordering school meals, please contact the school office so that we can provide you with the relevant form to complete in order to notify the catering company.

NUT FREE SCHOOL - People who suffer from nut allergies can evelop a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction and therefore we must insist that we are a nut free school.  We cannot have nuts in school in any form.  So please can we ask that you have no nut products in the lunch boxes or brought into the school as treats.  For example:

  • Peanut butter sandwiches
  • Chocolate spreads
  • cereal bars
  • Some granola bars
  • Cakes that contain nuts
  • Biscuits/Cookies that contain nuts
  • Peanut butter cakes
  • Some Asian food, including satay
  • Sauces that contain nuts

This list is not exhaustive, so please check the packaging of products carefully.

If you wish to pay for milk, you will need to complete a registration form on-line – www.coolmilk.com. Please note Cool Milk is an entirely separate company and all correspondence and payments should be made with them directly.
