What special arrangements are made for exams?

A small number of children may require special arrangements so that they can take part in KS2 SATs. These arrangements will always be considered in advance and will follow Department for Education guidelines. Arrangements may include:

  • Additional time

  • Modified versions of the tests such as enlarged print

  • Access to a reader in certain tests

  • Scribe

  • Rest breaks

  • An amanuensis who may rewrite a pupils responses if the pupil has difficulty with handwriting. For those children with SEND wishing to sit the grammar test for secondary school, we always liaise with the secondary school to ensure that appropriate arrangements are made for the testing process.
