Gloucestershire Grammar Schools Entrance Test
September 2027 Entry
The Entrance Test for September 2027 Entry took place on Saturday 12 September 2026.
If you missed the registration deadline, a Late Test will be held in January 2027. If you would like your child to sit the late test, you will need to contact the grammar school directly. Please note that the Late Test gives your child an opportunity to join the waiting list for your chosen grammar school(s). They will not be able to be offered a grammar school place on National Allocation Day.
September 2028 Entry
The Gloucestershire Grammar Schools have made changes to the admission testing process which take effect for children applying for entry in 2028 (current Y5 pupils). The entrance test will take place on Saturday 3 July 2027. Registration will be open from midday on Monday 8 February - midday on Friday 19 March.
The test provider will be Future Stories Community Enterprise (FSCE) and the test will consist of three FSCE papers:
Adventure Paper: English and Maths, with multiple choice answer questions
Beacon Paper: English and Maths, short written answers
Compass Paper: multiple choice questions coving the following subjects learned at school: Art & Design, Computing, Design & Technology, English, Geography, History, Language, Maths, Music, Physical Education and Science
