What role do the governors have? What does our SEND governor do?

Our governors have a vision that addresses what Tredworth Junior School can provide for children with additional needs and their families.  They are familiar with key legislation and its impact on every day practice.

All school policies and their effectiveness in practice affect the education, progress and achievement of children with additional support needs.  Governors monitor these regularly, particularly those concerned with behaviour, assessment, access to the curriculum and support.

Governors also play an essential role in ensuring that finances are distributed appropriately in support of additional needs and in ensuring that the outcomes for children represent good value for money.

The SEND governor has a particular role in supporting the SENDCo, providing advice, support and challenge where necessary and leading the governing body to ensure that the support needs of all children are met.
