Absence Protocol
Absence Protocols
We would like to give you some information about our updated Absence protocols.
At Tredworth Junior School we expect all pupils to attend school every day that we are open unless they have a reasonable reason to be absent which we can determine and authorise.
It is your responsibility to inform the school of your child’s absence and the reason for this by 9am. You can do this by telephoning the office on 01452 524578 and speaking to one of our office staff.
Following advice from the local authority regarding Safeguarding and child protection we are able to inform you of the new absence protocol:
- Registration 9am
If a child is still absent at 9.30 and we have not received any contact from a parent, we will:
- Attempt to make contact with parent by phone (attendance officer)
If no contact is made, we will:
- Carry out a home visit to make contact with the parent/child (senior management)
If we do not see the parent and child at home, we will:
- Report the child missing to the Police
The welfare of every child is our main priority and we ask for your help in letting us know that when your child is not in school we know where they are and why.
