This year, we are introducing a new focus for how we teach and include times table facts within our Mathematics lessons. All children are aiming to join the 99 Club. Each week in school, children will have a 5-minute test to see how they are improving their recall of the times table facts that they are working on, including division facts. The challenge begins at the 11 Club and ends at the 99 Club. Once children have answered all questions correctly within the time limit over two consecutive weeks, they will receive a certificate and move up to the next level. However, for those children who are determined to go even higher, they have the opportunity to move through the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Clubs too!

The breakdown of the 99 Club levels is as follows:

11 Club - 11 questions involving doubling numbers from 1 to 10

22 Club - 22 questions involving repeated addition of numbers from 1 to 10

33 Club - 33 questions introducing the 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x table facts

44 Club - 44 questions adding the 1x, 4x and 6x table facts

55 Club - 55 questions adding the 7x and 8x table facts

66 Club - 66 questions adding the 9x, 11x and 12x table facts

77 Club - 77 questions consisting of division facts using known table facts

88 Club - 88 questions of any mixed multiplication and division facts

99 Club - 99 questions of any mixed multiplication and division facts

Additional times table challenge

Bronze Club – 100 questions to confirm children’s knowledge of times tables up to 12 x 12.

Silver Club – 100 questions involving the 4 mathematical operations

Gold Club – 108 questions involving addition, multiplication, division, square roots, squares, cubes, percentages and BODMAS

Platinum Club - 120 questions of tricky teasers, negative numbers, Roman numerals, BODMAS, degrees in shapes and algebra.

We hope that you will continue to support your child’s learning at home by regularly going through their times table facts with them using some of these resources below, using a copy of the Club level sheet they are working on in school (provided by the class teacher) or just by recalling them verbally.
