Free Cricket & lunch session @ GL1
Mon 29 Jun 2026Over the summer holidays, the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation are providing free weekly softball cricket camps with a hot meal at GL1 Leisure Centre.
The Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation are the official cricket authority of the region governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). They are offering free softball cricket sessions.
The free softball cricket camps are for girls and boys aged between 8 – 12 years old and will be delivered by qualified coaches of the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation. The sessions are ideally for pupils who have free school meals, which is why we are offering lunch as well as the free sessions. However, any child age 8 to 12 who wants to attend will be welcome.
The free sessions will take place every Wednesday from 10am – 3pm during the school holidays: 22nd, 29th July, 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th August, and will take place at:

To sign up, click the link of the relevant day below that you would like to attend, create a profile (if you do not have one already) and complete the form. If there are any dietary requirements, include them in the ‘Special requirements’ section, fill in the details to get your child’s free personalised shirt and enter the discount promo code to claim the session for free. You must ensure they have entered the correct code to the correct date to claim the free session.
Each discount promo code can only be used once per email for a maximum of three places.

Invest In Play taster session at Friendship Cafe
Thu 25 Jun 2026Gloucestershire Gateway Trust is running an Invest in Play Taster session at your local Childrens Centre, The Friendship Cafe, on 1st July at 10-11.30am.
The taster sessions are an introduction to the course which they will be offering in September. It's a relaxed format for parents and carers to show up and find out about the Invest in Play and see if it's the right course for them.
It is evidence based and focused on quality play and engagement from parents with their children ages 2-12yrs.

Denmark Road High School Year 4/5 girls annual summer club
Wed 24 Jun 2026Denmark Road High School will be running their annual summer club at Denmark Road High School for Year 4/Year 5 Girls who are eligible for Pupil Premium. It will take place between Monday 17th August – Wednesday 19th August.
It will be a fun 3-day club which will include Arts, Crafts, Sport and some engaging activities from our own 'Starting Strong' programme. There will also be some dedicated time for tutoring with our sixth from students towards the GL assessment on the final day of the club.
The course is free of charge, and will include lunches.
There are a maximum of 50 places which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The deadline for responses is Friday 3rd of July but this may close if there are 50 applicants before this date.

Free Adult ESL lessons
Wed 24 Jun 2026Adult Education Gloucestershire are offering ESOL classes for adults who speak some or no English.
- Friday weekly drop-in sessions for information & registration for ESOL English classes (ESOL – English for Speakers of Other Languages) run at the main site in 4-6 Commercial Road, Gloucester throughout the year, during school holidays and term time from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Many students on a low income can claim bus tickets for travel.
- Available classes include ESOL: Literacy, Beginners, and exam classes in ESOL Entry Levels 1-3 & Level 1

PEAK activity day
Tue 23 Jun 2026Following the success of last year’s event, PEAK – Parenting Empowered Autistic Kids is planning their second PEAK Day—an inclusive community fundraising fayre for families across Gloucestershire.

🕙 Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
📍 Location: Hunts Grove Primary AcademyPEAK Day is designed to be a welcoming and accessible experience for all children and families, including those with additional needs. The event will feature dedicated calm zones and breakout spaces, helping children regulate and feel comfortable throughout the day.
There will be a wide variety of inclusive, family-friendly activities, including:
- A SEN-friendly disco
- Petting zoo and therapy stands
- Sensory tents and craft activities
- Performances from local groups
- Activity inflatables and interactive experiences
- Special attractions such as walking dinosaurs and therapy animals
